Day 163…

Saturday 10th February 2018

After a late night, I woke up just before 10am. I lay in bed on my phone for a little while before shaking a leg and getting up. I got myself dressed then proceeded to wake Dad up like he asked me to do.

I packed away yesterday’s clothes in my weekend bag and took myself downstairs. Making myself a cuppa and some cereal, I sat eating and drinking those on my tod. Edward and Ann then joined me at the table but only for a little while as they had things to do.

I decided as I didn’t get a chance to do my eyeshadow last night that I would make the effort (make-up wise) today instead.

Not long after I had finished and taken photos of my eyeshadow look, Edward and Ann arrived back. Shortly followed by Edwards neighbour Audrey. I sat and had a cup of tea with the three of them, talking about various things.

I collected all my make up gear together to take upstairs and pack it all away. I thought I best check on my Dad too, the silly sod had fallen back to sleep. I informed him of the time and told him to get a riggle on. Eventually after having a shower he surfaced and joined us at the table.

Dad sorted himself a coffee and toast. I too had some butter on toast as my lunch. Edward and Ann popped out again to go shopping, I think. Dad and I chilled in the front room for a while, I took a few videos of the house to send to Adam. After a little while of chilling we headed to Rachaels to see how everyone was feeling after last night. I think the best word to use is fragile

We arrived to see that all the kids were up and playing on the iPads/Kindles. “King Stu” was sat amoungst them. Ian was there and having cuddles with Baby Etta. Dad and I stood having a nice catch up with Ian and Helen. I got a quick squeeze of the gorgeous Etta before Dad stole her off me and instructed me to get a photo.

Rachael then graced us with her presence after a freshen up, feeling slightly better than when she first woke up; well she felt cleaner at least😂.

I was handed a DIY Slime Book, a can of shaving foam, a bottle of saline solution, a bottle of baking powder, a bottle of PVA glue, a pot of glitter and sent off with six children. This is where the fun begins😁. Naturally with six kids aged between 3 and 13, I was in my element.

So looking at the ‘ingredients’ we had I had to find the right ‘recipe’ to suit what we had. I stumbled across this recipe named “Crystal Jelly Slime”.

We spent hours making a few batches of slime. Most going to plan, one batch did not because Charlie didn’t listen to measurements🙈. Although that being said I was kind of guestimating the measurements as the measurement marks had faded/washed off.

We didn’t have the exact ingredients so some was improvised…

Nathaniel made his own batch of edible slime using melted marshmellows, coconut oil and something other bits – it was delicious!

After Charlie’s failed attempt at the ‘Crystal Jelly Slime’ I decided we would use what was left of the ‘ingredients’ to make a different kind of slime. Together with the kids, we chose to make ‘Fluffy Slime’ although it was hard to measure shaving foam and by this time the kids were hyped up and putting a bit too much of each ‘ingredient’ in the mixture😂.

Unfortunately the ‘fluffy slime’ didn’t quite work, it didn’t congeal at all; then it started to and then stopped and went all sloppy again😣.

I think I would be correct in saying that the fluffy slime made the most mess. Isla was trying to get it to congeal, bless her cottons it just wasn’t happening. So sadly that batch went straight in the bin.

I cleaned up the mess while the kids played. Isla and I then measured out the Crystal glitter slime equally, so that each kid got the same amount. There was enough for seven equal measures meaning each child got one and so did I😁.

Slime all measured out, we put on our shoes and coats then headed to the pub to watch the rugby match; England Vs. Wales. A few drinks, chatting and playing with the kids. Didn’t pay much attention to the rugby as I couldn’t see it anyway, too many tall blokes in the way.

Between us we decided we would order an Indian takeaway. What a mission that was. We tried to order it on their website but it froze and stopped working. Helen then wrote down what everyone wanted (from the Indian) in one of the kids colouring books. I had the bright idea of looking on Just Eat, luckily enough the same places was on there. So I made the order, individually putting in each item, including 12 individual poppadoms😩. It took ages!

The rugby game ended and we all headed back to Rachaels. Within 5-10 minutes of getting in the takeaway arrived. Together we sorted it out whos was whos.

My oh my what a good choice indian was, lush! Although I was absolutely stuffed. The kids sat together nicely watching a film while us adults sat around the table talking crap.

Rachael then got out her box of odd socks, I sat pairing the ones that actually could be paired. Unfortunately there were not many pairs which I found frustrating😣. I got a quick cuddle of baby Etta before Dad and I headed back to Edwards.

Edward and Ann were still out at their masked ball. So I took my meds then Dad and I settled in the front room to watch some TV. We put it on and Die Hard 4? I believe was on telly. Dad and I love the Die Hard films; so we were quite happy with that. Once the film ended I took myself off to bed, leaving Dad to watch Match of The Day.

Until tomorrow my fellow Die Hard fans, or not as the case may be.
